FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Where are you located?
    We're right off I-84 at exit 2 in Danbury, Connecticut. The facility is behind an office building almost directly across from Old Ridgebury Road - there is signage identifying the driveway. Directions: I-84 heading East: Take Exit 2 to Mill Plain Road Turn left at the bottom of the ramp Turn right on Mill Plain Road Mill Plain Self Storage is on the left just past the next traffic light (Old Ridgebury Road) I-84 heading West: Take exit 2-B Turn Right at bottom of ramp Turn Right on Mill Plain Road Mill Plain Self Storage is on the left just past the next traffic light (Old Ridgebury Road) Mill Plain Self Storages' business office is located in the grey building in front of the storage facility. The office entry is marked "Mill Plain Self Storage" and is right off the parking lot.
  • What are your hours?
    Our office hours are generally from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm though we are often in at other times. We are also open by appointment, so feel free to call ahead. Once rented you have 24/7 access to your unit. The facility is well-lighted, so feel free to come anytime.
  • Do you offer insurance?
    No, we do not at this time - but most home owner and rental insurance policies will cover self storage rentals - check your policy. Tenant's are responsible for their possessions.
  • Do you offer climate controled units?
    At this time we do not - our units are direct drive up with overhead doors. They are suitable for dead storage. You provide your own lock and key, or we can sell you one for $10.
  • Do you sell supplies?
    We carry an inventory of locks and packing tape for our tenants' convenience. On occasion we also stock boxes and other supplies. If you need supplies, contact us in advance and we can order them for you. You can also purchase supplies from local retailers or on-line. See our "Links" page for links to helpful moving sites.
  • Do you accept credit cards?
    Of course! We accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover cards. We also accept checks and cash. We offer a convenient automatic payment plan to charge you credit card monthly.
  • What units are currently available?
    Unit availability changes daily. Contact Us for a current inventory of available. Be sure to ask if there are any leasing specials!
  • Can I reserve a self storage unit?
    Call or email us and we will be glad to tell you what units are currently available. We accept reservations of up to 30 days in advance of leasing for a $25 fee. Contact Us regarding your needs.
  • What are your rental policies?
    Rents beginning mid month are pro-rated to the first. There are no credits for mid-month departures. All rent is due on the first and late on the 5th. We require a $50 security deposit which is return at the end of your stay, assuming the unit is left in acceptable condition. All leases are on a month to month basis - you can leave at any time.
